Mission Statement: To aid our congregation in actively sharing faith by responding to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of church, community and the world through prayers, gifts, time and talents so that others may come to know the love of Jesus Christ and share it with others. The Outreach Team members have a heart for service and community. We look for opportunities to share our faith and gifts with both our local and global community through a variety of projects. FUMC is proud to be a Rainbow Covenant church which means that a portion of our pledges go to support Methodist projects all over the world and locally including: The Ndjugu’s, our missionaries in Senegal, Habitat for Humanity, Grace Children’s Hospital in Haiti, Rockford Urban Ministries and the Good Samaritan Fund in Crystal Lake, just to name a few.We also organize the monthly Loose Coin offering to support additional local and world projects such as: UMCOR, Open Door AIDS Clinic, Interfaith Food Pantry, Zimbabwe Orphanage, Home of the Sparrow and our own FUMC Preschool. The Focus on Mission video is also prepared through Outreach in conjunction with the Loose Coin designated agency for the month.We coordinate a number of projects throughout the year including The Angel Tree gifts, Alternative Gift Market, CROP Walk, Relay for Life, Back Pack Project and community work days. We are always looking for new opportunities to serve and connect willing hearts and hands.
