FUMC Historical Society

The Leadership Council, according to The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church, shall provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the local church.  It shall envision, plan, implement and annually evaluate the mission and ministry of the church.  In addition, the council shall provide for administration of its organization and temporal life as well as be amenable to and function as the administrative agency of the charge conference.

By discipline and by appointment, the members of the council are the Chair (or Co-Chairs) of the following committees: Caring Ministry, Children's Ministries, Evangelism Ministry, Fellowship Ministry, Financial Resources Ministry, Membership, Outreach Ministry, Spiritual Life, Staff Parish Relations, Trustees, Youth Ministries, United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women, as well as the Lay Leader, Lay Member to Annual Conference, Chairperson of Leadership Council, Sr. Pastor, Associate Pastor, and all Program Staff.

With the appointment of Pastor Steven Bullmer as Senior Pastor, God has made his goals for FUMC much clearer.  We are to become a purpose driven church with a faith that works in real life.  We are to:·

This year we are focused on implementing our purpose and building leaders in our congregation to help grow and deepen the personal spiritual commitments and rewards of living a life with Christ.   We have been blessed with the gift of discernment and a passionate leader who is a gifted preacher.  God has breathed new life into our family.  There is an energy, focus and commitment to God’s Word and God’s Plan for FUMC that has been maturing for a while.  The time to glorify God is now,  and the people to lead this spiritual revival in Crystal Lake are the friends and family of FUMC.
